Data Architect
Overview
Nexulyze is seeking high-ownership Data Architects to design and scale robust, enterprise-grade data systems. You will define the architecture behind our data infrastructure, ensuring it remains scalable, secure, and aligned with long-term product and business strategy.
This role demands deep technical expertise across modern cloud ecosystems and distributed data processing frameworks, combined with structured thinking and architectural leadership. You will guide cross-functional teams, influence critical technical decisions, and set the standard for how data powers every product we build.
Responsibilities
- Architectural Blueprinting: Design and maintain scalable, high-performance data schemas, defining clear relationships between complex data entities across relational and NoSQL systems.
- Cloud Data Engineering: Lead the architecture and implementation of AWS-native data solutions, leveraging AWS Glue and PySpark for robust data processing.
- ETL & Integration: Build and manage sophisticated ETL pipelines to ensure seamless, reliable data flow across enterprise systems.
- Data Warehousing & Lakes: Develop and maintain high-performance data warehouses and lakes using Spark, Hadoop, and streaming platforms such as Kafka.
- Governance & Security: Enforce data quality, privacy, and compliance policies (GDPR/PII) while implementing master data management (MDM) best practices.
- Optimization: Perform advanced SQL query optimization and performance tuning for large-scale, high-concurrency data systems.
- Strategic Leadership: Align data architecture with Nexulyze's organizational goals, providing roadmaps for future scalability and AI/ML readiness.
- Mentoring & Influence: Collaborate with stakeholders and engineering teams to drive adoption of best practices and mentor engineering talent.
Requirements
- Experience: 8+ years in technology roles, with 5+ years in data-focused positions and at least 1 year serving as a Data Architect.
- Cloud Expertise: Proven proficiency in AWS cloud-native architectures, including hands-on experience with AWS Glue.
- Spark Mastery: Strong practical knowledge of PySpark for processing large-scale datasets efficiently.
- Advanced SQL: Expert-level ability in SQL for querying, data manipulation, and performance optimization.
- Data Modeling: Deep expertise in designing relational and NoSQL databases, with scalable and efficient schema architecture.
- Enterprise Experience: Demonstrated success in large-scale, enterprise-level data environments.
Additional Skills
- Practical experience with Data Warehousing and Big Data technologies.
- Expertise in real-time data streaming and integration using platforms like Kafka and Flink.
- Strong understanding of data governance, security standards, and compliance frameworks.
- Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on strategic data planning.
Nice to Have
- Familiarity with Databricks or Palantir.
- AI/ML Awareness: Interest or experience in designing architectures that support machine learning and AI model deployment.
- Experience with data streaming and real-time processing architectures.
- Proficiency in other backend languages (Python, Java, or Scala).
